Harvey Milk was no ordinary man – neither is the actor who played his role in 2008’s Milk. Sean Penn, who was already an Oscar winner, might have had an idea that a film like that could bring him another Academy and maybe that worked as a motivation for him to accept such a challenging project.

Considering the efforts that he put to get into the character and the way he soaked all the details related to the popular politician, nobody can deny that the star’s performance was a salute to a real-life hero who had to embrace an unfortunate death.
