Andrew Jackson, African Grey Parrot – $3,800
When you think of Africa and animals, the first thing to really come to mind is the Amazon Forest and maybe that is the home grounds of Andrew Jackson’s African Grey Parrot. The former U.S. president among others who came before and after him, all had an exotic pet of their own.
Jackson’s parrot was one of those famous talking birds who was loved and cherished. The presidential bird was named Pol and after his owner died, he became a bit uneasy and let his little mouth chirped too much, lol. Pol was purchased at the time for a reported $3,800.
