Vicky Leandros, Still Making Music at Age 72
Vicky Leandros is a Greek singer who now lives and works in Germany. She is the daughter of musician and composer Leandros Papathanasiou, who she is obviously very influenced by. Her career started in 1965, when she released her first single ‘Messer, Gabel, Schere, Licht.’
Vicky would achieve worldwide fame after she represented Luxembourg at the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest. In 2006, she was elected the councillor and Deputy Mayor of Piraeus in Greece, but she left the post because it was a lot of work!
