Joe Turkel – The Terrifying Bartender From The Shining Is Retired At 91

Remember the eerie bartender from The Shining (1980)? This was one of the roles that are etched in the memory of Joe Turkel’s fans. Although his personal favorite happens to be Paths of Glory (1957), this character actor is more remembered for his freakish role of scientist Eldon Tyrell in Blade Runner (1982). Turkel is one of those few actors who were fortunate to have worked several times with the legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick. He left the show business back in 1998 and his public appearances have now become rare.
